1. Agreement and eligibility
By downloading, accessing, or using SumScreen, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service. A parent or legal guardian must set up and manage family use involving a minor and is responsible for any consent required for the child’s use.
2. What SumScreen provides
SumScreen helps families create time-limit goals, monitor progress for selected apps or categories using Apple Screen Time technology, send reminders, and record rewards. The service is a family habit-building tool. It is not medical advice, parental-control enforcement, emergency monitoring, or a guarantee that a child will change behavior.
SumScreen records rewards offered by a parent, but it does not hold money, process payments, deliver prizes, or enforce a family agreement.
3. Family and account responsibilities
- Provide accurate setup information and use SumScreen only for children you are authorized to manage.
- Protect pairing codes and access to your devices.
- Review goals and app selections for accuracy before relying on progress.
- Use reminders and rewards in a safe, lawful, age-appropriate, and respectful way.
Anonymous accounts are tied to app and device state. Deleting the app, resetting a device, changing Screen Time permissions, or other device changes may affect access, measurement, or synchronization.
4. Screen Time measurements and notifications
SumScreen depends on Apple frameworks, operating-system permissions, network access, background delivery, and third-party infrastructure. Measurements and notifications may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or affected by software updates, device settings, newly installed apps, time-zone changes, or service interruptions. Parents should verify important results and should not use SumScreen where a missed notification could create a safety risk.
5. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with operation, reverse engineer it except where law permits, use it to harass or unlawfully surveil another person, or submit illegal or harmful content. We may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or others.
6. Ownership
SumScreen and its software, design, name, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended family purpose.
7. Ending use and deletion
You may stop using SumScreen at any time. In-app settings let eligible users delete an anonymous account, remove a child profile, leave a family, or delete an owned family. See the account deletion page for details. We may discontinue or change the service, subject to applicable law.
8. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SumScreen is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, perfect measurement, or delivery of every notification.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SumScreen and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, rewards, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limitations may not fully apply to you.
10. Changes and applicable law
We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised terms, where permitted by law. These terms are governed by applicable law without overriding consumer protections that cannot be waived.
